DVD drive is not detected

Newbie Forum Discuss, DVD drive is not detected at Community forum; Operating Vista Home Premium. Registry not detecting DVD drive (Pioneer DVR 216BK). Not showing in device manager or bios at startup. No upper or lower filters. Subfolders are 0000 and Properties under folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE=BFC1-08002BE10318. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

    If it isn't showing up in the bios, you're out of luck. Make sure the physical connections are fastened correctly (both the SATA data cable and the power cable). Possibly try different SATA ports on the motherboard.
