Does the NEC drive work with other software, eg: Nero?

I've got a SATA PCI card , an SIL3112, and had exactly this problem with ImgBurn.

The problem was that I used a driver that was for a higher version of the BIOS (on the PCI card) than the BIOS would support. I installed the correct lower version and all was well.

The 3112 chipset is quite common & this incompatibility could well be the cause of your problem.

You can of course just uncheck the box in Decrypter & the problem will also disappear.

I haven't burnt anything with it since I installed it into this machine. I've used it before but obviously things have changed. I have Burrrn so I'll try that out and post back here.

It installs software fine but I'll try and burn something tomorrow...

Thanks...

Burrrn will work OK for Audio CDs but as it doesn't try to set this state it won't get this error.

If I understand correctly, you want to use dvd decrypter to burn, correct?

Then I suggest to use Imgburn, aka the updated version of the burning engine of dvd decrypter. You can find it here

That'll get exactly the same error so won't fix this problem but the upgrade is worth it.

Would Deep Burner Pro work?

My motherboard is an Asus A8R-MVP Deluxe and I don't really know about PCI cards.
The chipset is ATi Radeon Express 3200.

Yeah, I have imgburn too. I downloaded DVD Decryptor because Ripitforme asked for it's location when installing!

Just sussed that I should point it in the direction of imgburn.

Opening imgburn isn't giving me this error message so tomorrow I'll burn something with it and see what happens..

Thanks guys.

DVD Decrypter will work if you uncheck that particular option in the settings. Other apps don't perform this same function as Decrypter & Imgburn so won't show this error and as ImgBurn doesn't show this error then that function has not been set.

When you built your system did you get any updated drivers thru Windows update that might have affected things as this is exactly how my problem arose.

dvd decrypter is useful to do rippings, and it's necessary for ripit4me to works correctly; I don't use it anymore to do burnings because now it's available imgburn
