Desktop CD Recording- enable or not enable?

I have been wondering about this.

Could someone please clarify this regarding--My Computer==> CD Drive Properties--> Recording tab, specifically -->Desktop CD recording.

What is the advantages or disadvantages to make a checkmark on the -> Enable CD recording on this drive?

Should I enable or not?

I use Nero (v6)- (I use both CD and DVD's) does it make a difference to check or not to check?

If you've got Nero or any other burning suite (eg Roxio) then it's best that this is not enabled as the Windows software could potentially interfere with what you're doing.
