Converting AVI files to DVD?

| None of the conversion programs are fantastic, to be honest. A lot of the information is lost in the original conversion to .avi XviD/DivX (actually a variant of MPEG4), so going back 'up' to MPEG2 is going to expose a lot of artefacts. You may find it cheaper ((30 $/£/EUR) and much less hassle to buy a standalone DVD player that will play XviD/DivX, and do without the conversion process. If you really want to convert though, ConvertXtoDVD is said to be one of the better alternatives.

| How does the DVD play on the PC? If it's OK but not on your standalone player then it's probably because you're getting poor quality burns, likely caused by cheapo media. |
| Get Winavi, I have been useing this for ages and it does a very good job. I used to have the same problem, this is the best solution I have found. |
