Newbie Forum Discuss, can someone help me at Community forum; hey everyone.......i have a problem with my windows.......i think its spyware or some kind of virus......before the same thing happened and i could'nt access my Display options and told me i have to log in as admisnistrater to change it.....even though i was the administrater it stil said that.....but i

can someone help me

hey everyone.......i have a problem with my windows.......i think its spyware or some kind of virus......before the same thing happened and i could'nt access my Display options and told me i have to log in as admisnistrater to change it.....even though i was the administrater it stil said that.....but i fixed that now but i have another problem.....to decrease the spyware i installed norton but the problen is that i cant change the settings......it says the same thing.....to log on as administrater.....is there any way to fix that and also how can i take off like all the user accounts without losing any of my files and starting all over by creating a new account......thx

Try scanning your computer with an anti-virus, there are a few good ones online....

Also download ad-aware here It is one of the best spyware scanners around and its FREE!

ya i no about that......i have a spyware dectetor called bullet proof sofe adware/spyware remover but it does'nt detect anything and when i try to install norton internet protection.....it says i have to be an admistrator to install.....but iam the admistrator of my home computer.....any way to fix this.....damn this stupid viruses......if anyone knows please reply...thx

Try making a new admin account and installin it......

If your on windows xp:

Start >control panel >user accounts >create an account

ya.....i just created a admisnistrater account....but when i log into the newley created account...its like as if i just got a new computer...none of my files are there.....is there a way to have the same files and settings that i haev in the old account duplicated into the new account

you cannot duplicate it but u can do this.....

Go to My Computer, double click your harddrive, then double click Documents and settings,choose your old user name, then double click desktopd most of the things that were on your old desktop will be there. So just highlight them all, right click and copy and then just paste them to your new desktop.

but i cant see my user name........it gives me 4 accounts....All users...default(which might be my old one),guest, and my new account name.....do u think the problem is that default is names wrongly.....and do u know the settings in control panal names administrater settings....is there anything i can do in there to make my computer realize that in the original admistrater?...thx again for answering dude
