Camera's Mini DVD-R looks blank in my DVD drive

hey
i am trying to play some Mini DVD-R i got with pictures from a friend's trip

when i put it on my TV's DVD player it shows a menu where i can navigate the pictures

but when i put it in my PC's DVD drive it shows up empty.

why is that?

my drive looks pretty generic but according to windows and to my recipe it's NEC DVD RW nd 4550a. X16
the mini DVD-R itself is by silver line

thanks, i don't use DVD much so my first guess was about zones (i know my drive is not zone free) but the program DVD Region+CSS Free didn't make any difference i think

How were the pictures recorded to the disc? As a slideshow?
Pictures format? Jpeg files or just one file produced by a particular software?
Is your DVD player able to play Jpeg files?
As you refer a menu, is it recorder as a DVD video?
Here you have some possible issues: home DVD players can read DVD video and isolated JPEG pictures (some of them), but if the files are in a dif format or in a folder, it can cause trouble.
Other point - was your mini DVD-R finalized? If not, you can also have trouble.

Here you have some possible issues: home DVD players can read DVD video and isolated JPEG pictures (some of them), but if the files are in a dif format or in a folder, it can cause trouble.
Other point - was your mini DVD-R finalized? If not, you can also have trouble.
If the disc was recorded by a friend the chances of requiring a zone code are almos zero.
It would be more probable for you to have problems with TV ssys (Pal/Ntsc), but it would result in other kind of disturbances.

my home dvd player could read the DVD video without any problems
it is my DVD Drive in my PC which can't read it.
since IsoBuster can read the data and windows can't i guess my NEC drive is simply, well.... shitty
