| Check your storage controllers in hardware--> device manager...according to Nero, your devices don't run @ full speed. You can select the dma option from the dropdown box...enable for all devices, reboot, and report back.... |
| Nero doesn't work worth diddly trying to report DMA status on many newer machines. Anyway, gilmour93's drive is SATA. It seems to me the drive isn't recognizing these disks. I can't find a mid code in the error report. Try some Verbatim or Sony disks, and burn them at 8x not 4x.

Could make sense for the unability to read the mid code.... |
| I am using Sony media. I have always used them and never had any problems. In fact, I have never had any problems burning whatsoever until now. I don't use Alcohol 120 but Daemon Tools used to start up automatically. I disabled it from starting up recently. I never use it. I have no idea if that helps but hope it might. |
| Daemon Tools can interfere with burning. If you don't use it, I'd try uninstalling the program. If you don't want to uninstall, there may be a setting within Daemon tools called Hide ATIP or Hide CDR media. Make sure this setting is not checked.

| I'm not an expert on Daemon Tools...I just relate the little bit I know about the program and its side effects. My best guess is that it may have a part in your problem. Try the options I've given you and see if there is any improvement.I personally use Slysoft's VirtualClone Drive, which is about the only free program they offer. It is a very simple program compared to Daemon Tools though.

| And another thought. Just to rule out Nero as a possible suspect in your situation, you should try burning a simple data burn with another program. I suggest ImgBurn, which is a highly respected program around here. It is free to download and use. www.imgburn.com It also makes log files which you can post here if necessary.

| I dunno what version you have, but with the DT Pro Advanced version, there's still a service running in the background, even after disabling autostart and automount,it's called DTProAgent.exe. Still there by every reboot.... |
| I removed Daemon and a few other needless programs and things are working great again. Thanks for your time and help all! |
| Glad you got it sorted! |
