Hello! I really need some help with my burner, it's gone rampage. I can't burn any DVD's, constatly getting Disc at once errors or Illegal thingies. I've tried the most stuff,, enabling overburning 4600, cleaing my drivers, shuting down stuff before burning and not touching untill it's complete. | Nero is reporting DMA is off for your dvd drive. Nero is totally unreliable these days in this respect, but as a first step in diagnosing the problem you should check the DMA status of your drive. Look in my signature for the link to Womble's guide for checking DMA. The most important thing to discover is Current Transfer Status of the drive. It should be Ultra DMA 2 for this particular NEC I believe. The next thing we need to know is if you are using the Nvidia IDE d r i v e r s. If so, stop it now. Roll back the drivers to the generic Microsoft d r i v e r s. Your drive is fairly old and it may not be recognizing these CMC MAG AM3 disks you are using. The firmware in your drive is the 1.07 and it dates to 2004. There is a newer one from November of 2006 available here: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/NEC-ND-2500A/ It is the 2.19 firmware. You'd probably be better off using Verbatim 16x disks.
