Welcome to CDF's

Do you need to remove copy protection for say backing up your store bought DVD's? ImgBurn is a great burning tool as mentioned by Michael but it doesn't remove copy protection.

yes, i'd like to back up store bought dvd's- my kids keep scratching and rendering useless various movies and software...

Download, Ripit4me, Dvd Rebuilder, and Imgburn and you should do okay to start with. Ripit4me should help get the dvd to your HD, Dvd Rebuilder and the included HC encoder gives the best compress IMO and Imgburn is used to burn your files. You can find all of these files plus some guides over at videohelp.com. best of all these are all free programs.

I tried to use this one as well but when i would go to burn it would tell me that there was no disk. Why would this be and what can i do?

Are you trying to use ImgBurn?

If so, please use it to find the make and model burner that you have. You can do this by using Discovery Mode. The information will show up at the top of the window on the right side. The current firmware will also show up on that same line, so please include it as well.

I suspect you are using blank dvds that the drive doesn't recognize, so you might need to update firmware.
