What's best for CD-R? (Memorex, Imation, Maxell)

Could you rank these brands from worst to best? I'm looking at 50 packs of these brands. Memorex is $12.97, Imation is $12.67 and The Maxell is $13.99.

None of them. Get Taiyo Yudens from rima.com.

Re: What's best for CD-R? (Memorex, Imation, Maxell)

Welcome to the forum

The three brands you mention are rather unpredictable these days.

The less problematic choice would be Maxell I guess, if they are Ritek discs they can even be pretty good. But who knows what Maxell sells these days. Maxell "pro" line or "Broadcasting quality" are excellent discs (with Maxell's own technology) but far more expensive than the regular line.

I wouldn't bother with Memorex or Imation.

I'd also recommend that you drop these choice and buy Taiyo Yuden CDRs from a reputable TY dealer like Rima.com (in the US) and SVP (in Europe).

If you can find Verbatim "pastels", they will be Taiyo Yuden CDRs.

A possible cheaper choice is Ridata. Not as good as the Taiyos, but totally decent.

I have Maxell that say "made in japan on the upc and they are Taiyo Yuden CD-R's from Sam's Club. Check out the "Music" and "Max" Maxell's. They are pretty much the same price.
