Question: Verbatim Multicolor LightScribe Blank DVDs???

    I got two packs of Verbatim Colour Lightscribe, one from a webshop in the U.S. another from an online retailer here in Europe.

    Both were MCC 004 Made In Taiwan.

    And they're very good. Burning them with any Optiarc drive (be it NEC or LiteOn chipped) will give you very good results in my experience as should a Sammy, which mine did before it packed in

    I normally get a max PIE of 20 or less and max PIF of 2, sometimes 3. I've attached a Quality Scan of an average burn I get with this type of disc.

    I would avoid burning them with an LG drive though, because I don't know if LGs drives are rubbish or they just don't like Azo, but with my H55N I usually get numerous bursts of 5 PIF which is way too much for a quality media like the MCC 004.

    FWIW I used to use MBI (out of pure ignorance) and the PIF rates on those are comparable to the PIE rates of a good Verb.

    Lightscribe disc is should be better quality than nomal brand Verb SL media

    Mine are a mix of PAPA05 and PAPA06. It doesn't seem to make much difference though, with all the Taiwanese (CMC made?) discs as well as the plain Verbatim Lightscribe DVDs from Moser Baer India all working in much the same way and giving me almost identical results in TRT + QS.
