Samsung sw216B Problem write speed

    Hey there

    Last year i bought a samsung sw216B cdr/w and it worked great until i recently reinstalled windows 98.When i installed nero burning rom the maximum write speed was 12x and not 16x as it has to be.This is with more burning programs.The burner still works but only at 12X rec. the rewritable speed is 10x wich is normal.If anyone has a solution to this problem that would be great.

    Tried different CD-R discs? (most likely reason)
    Made sure you have the latest program versions?
    Checked for newer firmware versions for the drive?

    Well If you ran Nero DriveSpeed and lowered your speed "unintentionally", running it again and selecting max should do the trick....
