Hello everyone
just worried about a couple of things , any help would be appreciated
i have been using verbatim DVD+RW 4x code 43246 for a while based on recommendations for long term back up..
now i recently ordered some more and received them and the packaging is different.. the code is the same as is the made in taiwan.. but it doesnt say DataLifePlus which before was told was important... (and colour is different )
looked on the website to check it out but it seems verbatim have no mention of DVD+RW 4x code 43246 10 pack jewel case! (they used to!)
should i be worried?
the other thing which is giving me a scare is that up until now, i never finalized the discs when burning with nero 6... i would always leave the option to 'allow files to be added later (multisession disc)' open.. someone told me the discs wont show the files in other computers, just the one u burned it on! is this true??
this really gives me a fright
whats the best and easiest way to finalize them if this is the case as i have many with precious work
kind regards and thanks for reading upto this point if u have done so

They have redesigned packaging. Instead of the DataLifePlus and the crystal font, new 4x DVD+RW uses the glass font introduced by Verbatim in 2004 for the 16x DVD+R as well.
It should be the same except for the packaging not looking as cool as the older packaging did...
Don't bother with multisession. It only causes trouble with DVD, and as you're using RW, you can rewrite it anyway.
It may be that the DVD can then be read in one drive and not in another, but what you were told is incorrect.__________________

Preferred media codes: CD-R 97m24s01f; CD-RW 97m34s24f; DVD+R YUDEN000 T03; DVD-R TYG03; DVD+RW MKM A03; DVD-RW MKM 01RW6X; DVD+R DL MKM 003; DVD-R DL I avoid that format

thank you kg_evilboy for sharing your knowledge and speedy response
can u please elaborate when u say that some drives will read the disk and some wont..
do you mean that the drive will show either all the files on the dvd or none at all?
is this the case if i burnt the dvd as a mutisession and then added more files at a later date but still didnt finalyse it .... or will for example the files from the first burning session appear (when i read the dvd on another computer) and the later ones wont (or vice versa)
i hope i wrote that last part clearly! i am hoping i dont need to go back and finalize every single dvd (which i dont know how to do)
thank you so much for your time matey -

Don't worry about DVD+RW finalize. It's automatic. They are always finalized, and you can always continue the multisession anyway.
If you look at your DVD+RW with CDspeed they will show as closed on the info tab, but you can continue multisession, assuming there is room on the disc.
I've never had any problems with being able to read them. XP can read all the sessions.
I'm assuming you are backing up data. I don't know much about video DVDs.
I have also been using the Verbatim DVD+RW DataLifePlus (MKM A02). These were packs of 10 in heavy duty jewel cases, reorder number 94520. I just looked at rima.com and newegg.com and they are not there. I hope their spindles of 30 are as good.
P.S. My Liteon 1693 burns these better than any other discs.
