Blank Media Discuss, CDs? at Consumables forum; Ok, haven't bought CDs in few years, mostly DVDs now. Ok, haven't bought CDs in few years, mostly DVDs now.

Now I have few CDs to burn and don't really know what brand to buy.

At this point in time I still prefer Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs. There isn't much choice though.

Best CDs in descending order:

1. Taiyo Yuden (can be found under Sony and Maxell brands that are MIJ)
2. Verbatim DataLifePlus (AZO only, not the regular CDs)
3. Ritek (can be found under the Maxell brand)
4. Sony (made by Daxon with a Sony ATIP)

Another CD that is starting to get noticed is Falcon MediaPro (made in Dubai or the UAE with a TDK ATIP).

Dunno where you're located, but if you're in Europe and look carefully, you may also find some TY- made Verbatim Extra Protection CDRs floating around (in the distinctive TY cakebox, look for Made in Japan on the packaging).

One does not correlate to the other. We all know about the name change, but that doesn't have anything to do with the media actually showing up where we can buy it and/or get our hands on it physically.

We've been waiting to see pictures of the cakeboxes and verification of actual purchases. If you can buy it in Germany now, that's a good thing. Now let's see some evidence from elsewhere.
