best dvd+r dl dye?

Which one is it? Anyone knows?

It's not about the "dye" (what makes the quality of a disc is far more complicated than this - the dye is only one aspect), but the best DL media is made by Mistubishi (mediacode MKM) and is Verbatim-branded.

Yep only Verbatim Branded MKM DL is reliable. Most other brands are Ritek, Ricoh or CMC. All these are pretty terrible.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're "terrible", but I totally agree they're not reliable, and I personally wouldn't recommend them. I've seen some good results here and there, but it's not the majority...

Yup, I only can agree.
Verbatim DL (MKM MID) is THE best available DL media yet.
CMC and RICOH DL can give good results with few good burners.

Another vote for Verbatim (MKM) being the only reliable choice for D/L media at this point.
