You're taking about a frame cap or screen cap. 1st, it's not "high res", unless you're dealing with HD video. DVD video is only 480, so applications for the images are limited. You can get a decent 8x10 with a little work, but keep expectations low.
I use PowerDVD, which has a little button that copies the frame to the clipboard as a bitmap. Then open that in Photoshop. You can also simply do a screen print or screen cap, but PowerDVD actually captures the frame, which is a little different. - Posted:

There are some programs that are made specifically for frame captures from video. I ususally do my with adobe premiere. One thing you will have to remember when doing a frame capture, is that you will have to de-interlace the captured frame. I can't recall offhand all of the softwares that do this, but you can do a search at www.videohelp.com __________________

VirtualDUBMod can do it for you. Load in the VOB file, then move the slider to the frame you want. Then in Video, hit Copy Source Frame to Clipboard. Then paste into your favorite pic editor. __________________
