Remux?

I was using VideoRedo today and after editing out the commercials from a recorded TV program it asked me if I wanted to "REMUX".

What is "remux" and what should it mean to me?

Re: Remux?

It means Re-multiplex. I.e De-multimplexing (demuxing) and then multiplexing (muxing)

Demuxing means splitting the audio and video out of a container. Muxing means joining audio with video (and subs etc) into a container.

A container is something for example avi or mkv.

Re: Remux?

So in my case, it remuxed because I edited sections out of the center of the mpg file?
