JPEG to DVD video

What software would I use to convert a folder of jpeg photos to play on a standalone DVD player. I mean convert them into a DVD video format so they can be played on a normal DVD player. Is this possible?

Proshow (US$30) or Proshow Gold (US$70) should do everything you want to do.

Yes this is possible irabor. Look up slideshow programs in Google. There is even a free one available from Microsoft, though I haven't used it. Here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...y/default.mspx

Re: JPEG to DVD video

I've successfully done it with both the free (with DVD drive) version of Nero, and Nero 8 Ultra Edition. I've even created it directly in PAL.

Nero also has the ability to add a sound track from an audio file, though I haven't tried it.

I spent a long time trying to get JPG files to display on all DVD players and eventually gave up. Then, one day, I discovered the so-called Slide Show format of Nero, and it works perfectly. If you do it right, each picture gets a chapter mark, making it very easy to "go to next" and "go to previous" slide, though "go to previous" only works properly in Pause mode.

Re: JPEG to DVD video

Nero 7 Essentials came with my LG drive, but Nero Vision to make a slideshow was not included. I just upgraded to Nero 7.11, but still no Vision. Nero said I need to buy "DVD-Video Multichannel Plug-in" for $28.

My friend bought a DVD drive a year or two ago and his came with Nero Vision. And it appears others also got Vision with their DVD drives. Maybe I can find another drive on sale that comes with Vision.

Re: JPEG to DVD video

I've done it using Nerovision 3 (which I didn't know I had) that came with my Nero Burning 6 Ultra. One of the posters here on the forums put me on to it. In Nerovision select the slideshow dropdown then the DVD Movie option. Drag and Drop your selected pictures into the compilation. You can add them to subgroups or move them direct from your harddrive location to to you compilatin. You can also add a soundtrack to accompany the pictures (select the option to match the slideshow presentation to the length of the sound track). Using Nero Wave editor you can edit the sound track to be shorter or to remove the few seconds of silence that some songs have at the end, or you can combine multiple songs into one contineous sound track (although that isn't absolutely necessary as you can add multiple songs directly to your compilation). Be sure to save your work occassionally and by all means don't get tidy and start moving your pictures around within folders or renaming folders on your harddrive (until you've burned your disc) or it will cause your compilation to not be able to find the pics when you open it later. Good luck.
