Please Help: How do you edit MP4 files made with the FLIP MINO HD CAM?

Just bought a FLIP MINO HD cam and while I love it, it converts all movies to MP4 which are not recognized by Sony Vegas and Windows Movie Maker (my 2 software programs for editing). So I have to either convert the MP4's OR find a s/w program that can edit the clips, and make DVDs. Help!
