| I am slightly confused with all the different applications for ripping optical discs. Most rippers available are specialised for ripping certain contents of a disc - e.g. music, movies or video games. The problem is, i have a CD and DVD, both containing computer applications which are copy protected - i cannot find software from the internet which is dedicated to ripping copy-protected applications from a CD/DVD Or can all this be done with movie ripping software such as DVDFab? I know you can use ISO software to rip contents to an ISO image (e.g. UltraISO), but these programs do not have features to disable copy-protection on software applications. Is this a stupid question and am i just missing something really obvious? Could someone please explain.  |

| There are several ways...mostly costing money. Maybe someone knows of a free or better way. I´ve successfully copied some using AnyDvd and CloneCD. What may be not so obvious is that CloneCD also copies dvds, but without compression...so a computer program or multimedia application on a dvd can be copied to a dvd using this program. Does that make sense? Ok...it´s one option and almost certainly won´t work in all cases.

One thing don't forget to do this also for program cd/dvd so they won't try to check for original cd/dvd. Make sure you check the "Hide cdr" feature in CloneCD as well. I know cause if you do check the "Hide Cdr" it will fool the game into thinking your have the original in the drive when it fact it is the backup cd/dvd in there. |
