I just reinstalled my PC for Campzone 2004

So I wanted to make an image with Norton Ghost 2003 so I choose to make a floppydisk with Ghost and I restarted the PC. But then my PC won't go further, the system hangs, I see a blue screen of Ghost but the cursus can't be moved and nothing happends. I updated Norton Ghost 2003 because Symantec said that, that would fix the problem. But it doesn't work. I also made bootdisk with support for USB and Firewire but then I have the same problem. I read on the internet that you need to make a bootable cd with the SATA-drivers on it.But I can't find anywhere how I can do that.

Specifications of my PC:

Epox EP-4PDA2+ rev2.0
Intel P4 2.4 HT
2*512 MB PC3700 Corsair geheugen
Sapphire 9800 Pro 128 MB
2* Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM 8 MB Cache IDE
1*Western Digital 120 GB 8 MB Cache SATA
NEC 1300
Memorex DVDROM
420Watt Antec Voeding

I hope that there is someone who can help me with this?

I have made a lot of images but never had this problem.

Thanx for reading

not that i wanna offend anyone...i'm really not a big fan of NORTON...it gave me more problems and headache at time..but anyway....if you have a original xp pro sp1 cd...u can try to burn it as bootable with adding SATA drivers on it...i'm still new to this forum and i'm tooooooo lazy to read the rules yet ....so i'm not sure if the moderator allow to link to another forum ....hehheh

if u interested....here is how to burn a bootable xp with added drivers...dont know if it help...i hope it will fix ur problem

Adding SATA drivers to XP CD (sources from PCper-its nice to tell ppl sources from where since its not my work )

I don’t know if its just me but I have found it annoying to clean install my OS with SATA drives on my Chaintech board. This has simplified the ordeal.

I assume you already have a folder with slipstreamed SP1 copy of XP and are able to make a bootable CD.

My folder for this install is G:\XP.
Open XP and create a folder $OEM$.
Open $OEM$ and create a folder $1.
Open $1 and create a folder Drivers.
Open Drivers create a folder SATA
Looks like this G:\XP\$OEM$\$1\Drivers\SATA
$OEM$ folder should be beside your I386 folder not inside it.

I used the MSI version they seem to have newer drivers, the 1.00.0.19 version.
Download them to your SATA folder. You will have 3 files and 4 folders. Open the XP folder and cut all the files, paste them in with the three files. And delete all folders. You will end up with something like this in your G:\XP\$OEM$\$1\Drivers\SATA

Fasttx2k, Fasttx2k.INF, Fasttx2k.cat, Fasttx2k.sys, txtsetup.oem, README.TXT.

Go to I386 folder, open and find the TXTSETUP.sif open with notepad. In note pad click view and check status bar. Reading the line numbers at the bottom will save time searching.

Add the following lines under [SourceDiskFiles] mine is around line 191
fasttx2k.sys = 1,,,,,,_x,4,1

Add the following lines under [HardwareIdsDatabase] mine is around line 18255
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3376 = "fasttx2k"

Add the following lines under [SCSI.Load] mine is around line 18714
fasttx2k = fasttx2k.sys,4

Add the following lines under [SCSI] mine is around line 21056
fasttx2k = "WinXP Promise FastTrak 376 (tm) Controller"

Be sure to save the file. No more floppy and pressing F6.

Update
You must copy the fasttx2K.sys in your drivers\SATA folder and paste it into the I386 folder

Open WINNT.sif in note pad, if you have an unattend file. G:\XP\I386 and add under the [Unattended]
OEMPnPDriversPath=Drivers\Sata

Or Cut and Paste this into notepad. You will need to add some of your info here. You need to remove all bold print after filling out your info. You need to save as WINNT.sif and put it in the I386 folder.
If you are unfamiliar with unattended. This will do most all of the installation for you. No f6 and floppy for SATA/RAID
You will need to make your partition. And then set back
And at the end the AutoActiviation=No does not seem to work just do the skip or activate as usual

Here is a fix for Ghost 2003. You are probably using a version prior to version 793. 793 upgrade fixes the SATA problem. If you need the update, here is a link. Just follow the instructions in the text file in the downloaded rar file.
