Laptop to projector, No display on projector

Hi guys,
I wanted to setup a laptop to projetor connection,anyway the connection was right but i can't get the laptop's display on the projector, Instead I get a split desktop. I want it to be The laptops display on the projector not a split desktop. The Graphics Card is an "Nvidia Geforce 4 with MMX 440".
