| Hello Guys, New to the forum and I think my question is pretty straight forward. I am looking to make a bootable DVD that will install Windows XP and all my current programs/drivers with it. I have had some problems with my laptop crashing and I am sick of reloading XP and then having to install all of my programs afterwards. I would like to just do it all in 1 shot. just pop in the dvd.. let windows xp install and then all my programs and drivers instead of having to do my programs and drivers afterwards. Is there a step by step forum somewhere or is this too time consuming and I'm just better off installing all my programs after? thanks in advance guys. |

| Your best bet would be to create an 'image' of a newly built system with your operating system and all the applications installed using a product like Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage. Install your O/S and all updates. Install all your applications. Use said tool to make the image. In the future you can restore from that image, than go through the process manually. |
| Seagate DiscWizard based on Accronis is a free download that works very well for creating and restoring images. Note DiscWizard is designed to work only if there's a Seagate drive in the system, but there's a work around that limitation at http://forums.seagate.com/stx/board/...&thread.id=264. |
