How to join two .avi files into one continous

May I ask which would be the best and easiest program to join two .avi movies into one continuous movie, so it plays as one movie. It is actually one movie which they have for some reason cut in two. It will then all fit on one DVD.

Try with virtualdub. Open the first segment, then go to File --> Append and select the second segment.

Then go to menu Video --> Direct stream copy. Do the same with the audio menu, and finally save the joined file.

Bear in mind that both segments must be encoded with the same bitrateboth for video and audio, or virtualdub will display an error message.

but if you have a error message about joining cause of VBR mp3 etc etc i would get the Vdub MP3 Freeze version of Vdub to join the .avi files.
