| How do I create a DVD slideshow that can be played on any DVD player? I tried using Picasa to create a DVD slideshow but it doesn't play on DVD players. I have Nero 6.6 (full version) and Microsoft Picture It! 9 Standard but I don't think they come with that feature. I noticed that Photo Story 3 (free download) has an option to create a DVD slideshow that can be played on any DVD player if you purchase a Sonic plug-in for $20. Is there a free alternative? Thank you. |

| Re: How do I create a DVD slideshow that can be played on any DVD player? As FUNNY as this may sound and after testing MANY software, I found 2 software that stood up for their amazing special effects (not just cheesy wipes but 3D DVEs) ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD (very cool effects, high quality codec, ability to convert almost anything to DVD, including quicktime, WMV, you name it...and it does a super job!) My only gripe is the mother****er uses CDDila and leaves traces of it, and it works fine for me. It PROPERLY converts to an interlaced format compatible with your TV. 2nd software would be Cyberlink MediaShow, the latest version also features very cool transition effects, easy to use and great codec quality. I believe there is a FREE trial. |

| Re: How do I create a DVD slideshow that can be played on any DVD player? Should be enough to do it with your Nero 6.6 Several options are available... a CD or SVCD slide show, or DVD. I´ll try to show you how to make a DVD slide show with some screen shots of what you should see when you start from the Startsmart screen... First screen:

| Re: How do I create a DVD slideshow that can be played on any DVD player? If you intent to be doing much of this, a dedicated slide-show program is best. ProShow-Gold is just awesome, and gives you total control over multiple audio and image tracks. I would use it to create multiple shows in MPEG format, then use an authoring tool to create a menu and author a DVD. Ulead utilities also offer pretty robust slide-show capabilities. |
