Re: FLAC to MP3 Batch Conversion - Best quality ???

Yeah f2k takes a lil work to figure out, but it's a nice app/proggie..
Now as far as the skin/config, this is what I'm using..But there are many more skins and customizable configs if you want to go through all that work..

IIRC, just click the link for the files needed and open the install notes file..Should give you what you need..Good luck, and most of all have fun and enjoy!..

Here's another looksie at some of tracks in my iTunes folder..Another good thing about f2k is you don't need iTunes to transfer music onto your iPod/portable..

I downloaded the "Special" installer, as opposed to the Normal and Lite installers. It has the most stuff bundled.

.....
I have already ripped my 640 CDs to FLAC using EAC. I tried to do about 25+ per day and eventually it was done....whew.

So, I now have backed up all of those FLACs to two external hard drives (a 240GB archive on each drive) and now wish to do as the original poster-batch convert all the FLACs on my computer to MP3s. I clicked on the foobar link and looked for the "Special" installer & did not see it. Is this program still a good option (to do the batch convert)? And if so, how can I find that installer?

Thanks, cool that this site exists, I have a lot to look at!!

In the meantime: I downloaded foobar 1.2.1 just now & will see what options may exist during install.

You can also try CUETools.
It will give you also the option to verify and repair your FLAC images (I have about 1-2% 'damaged' CDs.)

Thanks Dude! I opened the page for CueTools & will start to determine if THIS will be the tool I need.

Anybody else have a favorite program for batch converting my extensive FLAC directory to mp3 ?? This will be a big convert session and I want it to go well. Thanks!
