Hi folks, since a few days I'm the owner of "Krokus" newest album
"Rock The Block" and "Blind Guardian - Live"

These two albums are protected with, for me a new experience, Cactus 200 ......... - the originalities of this protection is every track splutter at 9 sec. for a while !

Krokus: Cactus 200.0.4 - 3.0 build 16a
Blind Guardian: Cactus 200.0.4 - 4.0 build 10 b

If I listen to the images, create with Alchol or CloneCD, there are no gaps and splutter. After burning on CD and listen on my player, the tracks splutter by 9 sec.

My normal reader is a Tosh DVD-1712, but he can't read this protection and fails immediatley. So I take my Plex 24/10/40 fw. 1.04. - for audio it's better to take the burner !

Have anyone a idea to eliminate these defects.

Hi ,have you tried Plextools?If not try that and see if you get rid of the annoying 9sec glitches

Hi again, I tried yesterday to build up a copy of my Krokus CD
(Cactus 200.0.4 - 3.0 build 16a ) with PlexTools and my Plex
24/10/40 fw.1.04. ! No success !

If I make a image with Alchol 120% and put it in the virtual drive, there are no jumps at 9 sec. Burn to CD, start only at track 8 til last track, there are jumps at 9 sec.

I'll try much more during this week and I hope to eliminate the jumps ..............

Hi,
be sure to " enable first session only " in reading settings,in PlexTools!/gs.

(drive settings/advanced/enable single sesssion)/gs.[/edit]

If your image sounds OK, then use a wave editor (cool edit, soundforge....), go to file/open, select "*.raw" in the open box. If the image doesn't appear, rename the file with the .raw extention.
Then open it as 16 bits PCM, 44100 Hz, Stereo. I don't know if it must be "signed/unsigned", or "little/big endian".
If you get one of the last settings wrong, the sound won't play properly, so try another until the music plays ok.

Then you can remove the short garbage noise at the beginning and/or end of the file and edit the remaining audio data into separate tracks, that you will save as wav files. Unless your wave editor allows you to directly put track markers and burn.
Then you can built an audio CD from these wav files with your burning application (Nero, for example).
The result will be a standard audio CD that you can listen and copy without problem.
I defeated a doc.loc CD like this. Burning the image resulted in a unusable CD, so I converted it into audio, saved it as wav and burned the resulting files. I had no sound editor on the computer, so I downloaded GoldWave (unfortunately it doesn't burn).
