| Bought, build new multimedia PC, which OS to handle best ? Goodday, I have bought and build myself a new pc, tha bomb it is. Now I have multimedia components in it and want my PC to be able to handle this easy, like for instance: rip/burn lp's to cd/dvd, record/burn tv-shows, watch teletext, rip/burn old vhs to cd/dvd etc., transfer/record/burn video from videocam/photocamera to cd/dvd etc., next to that be able to download, edit/convert/burn photos/movies/music, play my online games. Is it best way to use MS Windows Media Center Edition 2005 or use the latest MS Windows Xp Corp Edition 2006 release from for all this ? Like to hear your advice. Have an good day,

| Re: Bought, build new multimedia PC, which OS to handle best ? Windows MCE is just XP home with a nice front end, so use that if your going to be using it mainly from your TV. As to ripping LP's, vhs tapes etc you are going to need other programs to do that as MCE won't do it (well it might to VHS, but you won't have any options to clear up the picture or audio). Also find out if your video capture and TV tuners are MCE compatable otherwise just stick with plain old XP. |

| Re: Bought, build new multimedia PC, which OS to handle best ? It will do the job (apart from the stuff I said in my previous post). If your still looking for the extra software for all the ripping / conversion then don't forget to look at the software section for everything you need |
