| bitsetting on isos ok, i am wondering if there is a way in nero 6 to force bitsetting to DVD-ROM on isos. the reason i am asking is this because i am backing up my xbox games and my xbox has a samsung dvd drive in it (which, by default, does not read +Rs). here's the deal, i have a lite-on SOHW-832S in my desktop which i have auto-bitset to -ROM always. when using +Rs with this, they work just fine in the xbox (of course). now i also have a new laptop that has a sony DW-P50A (4x +R/2.4x +RW; no -R/-RW capability). i was using it to back up some dvds. last night i took a dvd backup that just finished and tested it in my sony dvd player in the living room. it played just fine. next i took it to test in my unmodded xbox that has a philips drive (that can read +Rs) and it wouldn't read it. that really surprised me as it was the first dvd (movie) backup i tried in that xbox that didn't work. i don't know why, just for shits n' giggles i guess, i turned around and stuck it in my xbox with the samsung drive (the one that doesn't read +Rs unless they are set to -ROM) and it worked! i then took the disc out and put it in my desktop and ran dvdinfo on it and found that the booktype had been set to DVD-ROM! this disc was burned using nero in my laptop with the sony +RW drive. i hadn't set any settings on the laptop for changing the booktype (i don't even know how). what i am wondering is why nero set it to -ROM and if it is possible to set iso burning to -ROM as well. |
