Acronis Image work in windows, why do you want it run in dos?
Capture and restore disk images in Windows, no need to reboot to DOS even when backing up system partition.

I use Dos a lot, and find it easy, and I think that you usually get a better image in dos because there is less backgriund activity.

And I am still looking for some instructions for using it is dos.
I have used Ghost for years and want to see if true image is better
thanks

Hi moen - I am using Acronis True Image 6.0 with great success. I have had no problem with reinstalling images of my system drive that were actually made in Windows XP Home SP1 using NTFS.

On installation you will have the option of creating a boot CD and you can use this to load and operate True Image in "DOS". The interface is the same as that found in Windows and is intuitive and easy to use. It gives instructions screen by screen. Burning a 2 gb image to CD-R/RW takes me 10-12 minutes while burning it to a HD partition takes close to 4. Restoring from a HD partition takes about the same time.

I too used Ghost and having used True Image for about 2 months do not intend going back.

not verify but you can explore and extract from an image that is on the HD but not CD-R/RW at this time.
