It's no surprise that Nadella has been elected for the job, last week several sources reported that the would become the new CEO. Other candidates would have been former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and the CEO of Ford, Alan Mulally. Nadella seems to be a safe pick, the 46 year old already works 22 years for Microsoft.

The last couple of years he was responsible for the cloud and enterprise division with whom he successfully launched the Azure cloud platform. He also worked for other parts of the company, he had leadership positions at Microsoft's search engine Bing and Microsoft's advertising division.
