It's the annual Balloon Fiesta here in Bristol, and I managed to get these pics from my back garden

Tried to get more today but the wind was taking them in the opposite direction

The wife and I were cruising around this afternoon and came upon a fantastic looking farm. Luckily, she brought the DSLR.

Great shot! Are you a photographer? or just a hobby? You just picked the right place to shoot. The place was so beautiful and very relaxing.

Thanks. I only shoot as a hobby. I have been into photography since I was in high school over 30 years ago. I started with a 35mm film camera that had no auto focus, no auto exposure and a very basic light meter in the viewfinder. It is amazing what equipment can be bought today for so little money.

This photo was one I have been wanting to take for quite a while. It is a horse/cattle farm close to where I live. The day I took it my wife and I were out driving to see the turning leaves. The weather was beautiful and I managed to find a good spot to eliminate all signs of modern life like power lines etc.

Here are a few more that were taken that day.

Thanks. I have been waiting long time to get this shot. The weather just wouldn't cooperate when I had the time to be there. The thing I like about this photo is the contrast between large and small. There are small things like the fence, cattle etc while there are huge things like the mountains and shadows from the clouds. The contrast is beautiful and thought provoking, IMO. Then there are the colors. I was lucky to be there right at the boundary between summer and fall. The leaves are turning but other vegetation is bright green. It is another contrast that I like.
