Is pioneer dv-270 region free?

Hey,
I have a a pioneer dv-270 and i want to know if it is region free. I think it is because it plays a movie i have got from america and plays australia movies. But i have heard that there are some dvd players that play different region dvds for the first 5 times and then revert permanently to the last used region code. So is my player region free? and if it isnt how do i make it region free?. For my dvd player will 7 8 9 ok 0 work? I heard if you press 7 then 8 then 9 then ok and the region code you want like 0,1,2,3 etc.
