How Do You Backup XBOX 360 Games?

Anyone have link to where I can find a guide on how to mod my 360 to read back ups?

just hope you havent got a 78 drive but if you have dont worry too much as there is help coming real real soon

I just found a service providor locally who will do it for $60. Not bad...

i know in the uk i can it done for around £40 so i guess $60 aint bad at all

hello everyone. having the image ready do you need a special recorder to burn it? i have a benq 1640 and a 1650, tried some random dvd+r dls and the game won't work. does it need any other drive or is it just the media? i used clonecd to burn.

did you booktype the media to rom??? try imgburn it is free and also lets you booktype the media also are you trying to burn the .dvd file?

what do you mean am i trying to burn the dvd file? it's an .iso file.. would benq work for working xbox360 burns?? maybe 360 is strange with media types?

KNOCK ON WOOD Your posts on this site have helped me so much I can not thank you enough.

I am close to backing up my first 360 game, just waiting for my pioneer dvr 111d to arrive in the post tomorrow.

Can you tell me if I need to flash it with the latest firmware? as i have read on some sites that you do and some that you dont.

Also can you tell me if the pioneer 111d automaticly booktypes dvd+r dl to dvd-rom?

update to firmware 1.29 for the pioneer 111d ..... and use imgburn(free but you can donate) to burn the file and all we be ok ....... no need to worry about the booktype

have you got a 162 drive too??

I don't seem to be able to make working backups. i tried different media, cheap ones, expecting a few better ones (verbatim, philips) any day now, but want to make sure that non-working backups don't come from my burners. I have the benq 1640 and 1650. will using imgburn help? thanks in advance

you can set the booktype or bitsetting whatever you want to calll it easily with imgburn for the benq drives ... just make sure you bun the correct file the .dvd or iso in some terms i create my 360 backups myself using xbox backup creator ...the files i burn look like this on my system (see below) and as mentioned i use imgburn and dirt cheap media cmc mag crap

with great success but everyones opinion ALWAYS differs . people use various drives for burning but a hell of a lot of people recommend the pioneer due to its flexability (i have one)

so i guess that's a yes, my drives do working burns. looks like the media i got were a lot crapper than the ones you used. I'll try some better ones soon and let you know what I come across. thanks for the time being

how ar you creating your game files ??? if you can afford them go with verbatims as these are the best ..... but they are like a needle in a hay stack at the moment evrybody s bloody backing the 360 games up

well, i am doing all this for a friend. he provided me with the image which i assume he downloaded prepatched from the internet - and am positive the image is fine (he owns the game original doing this for backup reasons-wants original discs new-freak :P)

well, for verbatims a friend that keeps a store will bring me a few. so, it's all do-able again right?

I don't want to mess with creating the image myself..

your one lucky guy or gal if you get thise verbs

use imgburn you should be ok set it to booktype .... and make sure you dont enable verify set the speed at 4x

its safe this way

making the backups is really really easy if you have the tools

ther problem with this sort of stuff you never know if the ss number is included unless the download info states so

well the iso comes from 'known groups' out there, so I guess everything needed is included

just got my hands on ONE verbatim!

i'll burn the image but i'll have to wait till tomorrow for my friend to test it. i'll let you guys know how it went

All the latest Scene releases are prepatched. Some include the patches in a seperate folder aswell but the image is ready to burn.
Set book type to DVD Rom and use Verbs.

The software flasher for 78's is out, head on over to Xbox-scene.

guys i used imgburn and burn at 2x ona verbatim and still got a non-working game. any ideas? what could i be possibly doing wrong? I went to imgburn->drive->change book type->benq and i clicked on both current setting and new setting to drive (for dvd+r dl media). when i went back though i see it wasn't selected again. any ideas? did anyone make any working backups on benqs?
