Dolby Volume audio processing available next month

Available in Japan, Dolby Laboratories announced that their unique Dolby Volume technology will become available in Japan on Toshiba's new REGZA ZH500 and ZV500 LCD HDTVs. Dolby Volume allows consumer electronics to deliver consistent volume levels from several sources. "When we first demonstrated Dolby Volume, we immediately knew that consumers would be drawn to its elegant approach to mitigating loudness variations," said Page Haun, Director of Product Management, Broadcast Segment, Dolby Laboratories.

With Toshiba being the lucky first they think their product launch can't go wrong. Dolby Volume will make Toshiba's TVs work even better, due to its automatic and consumer-friendly technology. By making loudness control simpler and more manageable Dolby creates a friendly and easy-to-use product for the 'Average Joe'.

Of course Dolby wanted to offer more and they decided to help us with our hearing disability. Many don't get the information right when it's offered at a low audio level, so Dolby Volume constantly analyzes the audio and balances the low, middle and high frequencies.

Next month Toshiba's TVs will be launched in Japan.
