Burning PS2 game ISO

I have a backed up ISO of True Crime, what program and settings do I need to use to burn the ISO to a DVD-R?

dvddcrypter- mode-iso-write then source click on iso file then burn

You could also use Anydvd to unprotect and nero to burn it. works fine for me

AnyDVD does not do a thing for PS2 games.

Yep, Stick with DVD Decrypter or Image Burn. Both are freeware.

AnyDVD doesnt do anything? How do I find out if a games protected? Because I've backed up about 8 of my games using nero and havent had any problems playing them on the ps2.

How many protected dvd based PS2 games do you know about ? I give you a hint, the number is almost zero. And what does Anydvd say about Gran Turismo 4 ? Nero is quite buggy, so I'd not trust in its backups that much.

AnyDVD only works for DVD Movies not games. The fact is Sony mostly rely on protection that can not be burned. That is why you need a mod chip to play your backups.

The fact is for nearly all PS2 games can be backed up with just about any DVD copy software. Exceptions are things like Mercenaries and GT4.

As quoted from the Slysoft web site:-

AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

Yup, Movie encryption HAS NOTHING to do with PS2 games and Movie encryption is all that AnyDVD deals with. Gran Turismo 4 and maybe one or two other games will require a patch but that is easily picked up from the net. Other than that games are a straight burn.

I'm trying to copy Starwars: Battlefront, I did the dvd decrypter iso read thing, but when i did the iso write, Which file do I pick?



And does this work instead of a modchip?

Edit: Does DVD+R work?

Pick the mds. It's a standard descriptor file. yes, the swapmagic disk will work. (though the image needs some patching before burning or another solution can be found here http://www.swapmagicfix.com/) DVD+R is fine if your machine is v5+.

can someone help me before I waste any more dvd's. I am using nero6 and dvd-r. I am trying to copy an iso file (ps2) to a dvd so that I can play it on my ps2.
first I tried burning the iso image to the dvd and when I put the disk in the psp a message appeared saying "please insert a ps2 disk"

next I tried burning the disk as data. again I got the same error message.

what am I doing wrong?

do you have a modchip in your PS2? It won't work if you don't have a modchip or a swapdisk (or whatever they are called <.<)

burning the iso image to the dvd is the correct way, not burning the iso as data disk.

Ive got a problem

I recently downloaded a PS2 game. I have been having problems burning it. I have tried DVD decryptor, Alcohol 120% and Clone DVD to burn the ISO file to a DVD-R blank. I burn it at the slowest speed as well. When I load the game using the Swap Magic disc, The first screen that comes up is a load screen, and it just freezes there and does nothing. Each time I tried its always the same thing.

What should I Do??? Thanks in advance!!

If you were to tell the game title... Some Ps2 games need rebuilding or patching to work with SM.

Yes, this game needs to be rebuilt, use Gnie Expert tool with the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi plugin. Otherwise the game will not work.

I have downloaded CRICKET 2OO7 and DARK CLOUD from rapidshare.
Now i have both of them in iso.
Do i have to extract them or just put the single iso file on dvd ??

Wich program is needed to burn them or put them on dvd ?? cos i tried ultra iso but after it doesnt work ...

Simply burn them using Decrypter/Imgburn or anything that can burn the ISO images directly to the disk. UltraISO? It's a no go.

If the image that you downloaded is not corrupt and you follow my advice (I mean use Imgburn or Decrypter) then you will not lose another DVD-R. (of course some quality DVD-R media also could help )
