Clone CD Discuss, I cant copy my simcity 4 cd at Burning Software forum; Hi, i am trying to copy my simcity 4 cd because it is a game i play alot and i dont want my original cd getting scratched so i tried copying it but i cant so i was wondering if anyone has any bwa files for the game so then

Hi,
i am trying to copy my simcity 4 cd because it is a game i play alot and i dont want my original cd getting scratched so i tried copying it but i cant so i was wondering if anyone has any bwa files for the game so then i will be able to make a working backup copy

SimCity is SafeDisk 2.80 protected so why do you want *.bwa file?
Use SafeDisk2 profile. My advise is to use Alcohol.

i have tried everything thats why if someone is able to give me a bwa file it may work...

is alcohol 120% like clone cd how u can copy a cd with protection and run it on any pc without clone cd installed?

Bwa files are not required for safedisc and what writer do you have anyway?

Then try one or more of the following:[list=1][*]CloneCD with AWS[*]Alcohol with Bypass efm error[*]Blindwrite with enhance weak sectors[*]Cd-mate with S.A.M.[/list=1]
If none of them work then use CloneCD with emulate weak sectors as that will produce a copy that will work so long as hide cdr media is enabled when you play.

I've also been having problems with making a backup of my SimCity4 disks. I tried all of these programs, except cd-mate, but all I get is about a million read errors.

I think my problem might actually be a SafeDisk 2.8 issue, since I have the same troubles copying other CDs with this protection, like the Civ3 disk.

My burner is a MSI 52x24x52 CD-RW drive, and I've also tried to get the image using my MSI 16x DVD drive.

The disks look and work like new, so I don't think it's a physical problem with the disks.

What should I try next?

Safedisk protection does show read errors, it is normal. but most likely you can't make a working backup unless you have a burner with RAW DAO. you can check on this site: http://www.alcohol-soft.com/index.php?page=devsupp . if you make the image of a safedisk 2.8 disk with clonecd, you have to burn the image with another software like fireburner.
