Trying to find the "LiteOn SecuROM bug" with LTR 16x / 24X / 32X / 40x / 48x drives , V-Rally2 expert ed. and AvP2

1: CloneCD 4.0.1.8 on WIN98se, location: outside US, "Hide CDR Media" for playing enabled;
AMD 800 MHZ on ABIT KT7A RAID, installed drives: Tosh 1502 / LTR 16x / 24x / 32x

1.1: Reading, writing with default game profil and installed V-Rally2 with LTR-16101B FW: TS0M
-> write on CD-RW Verbatim high speed, installed game from CD-RW copy, copy is working from LTR drive
-> uninstalled game, installed from original CD, CD-RW copy is working from LTR drive, uninstalled game
-> write on CD-R Silver Circle, installed game from CD-R copy, copy is working from LTR drive
-> uninstalled game, installed from original CD, CD-R copy is working from LTR drive, uninstalled game

1.2: Reading, writing with default game profil and installed V-Rally2 with LTR-24102B FW: 5YS1
-> write on CD-RW Verbatim high speed, installed game from CD-RW copy, copy is working from LTR drive
-> uninstalled game, installed from original CD, CD-RW copy is working from LTR drive, uninstalled game
-> write on CD-R Silver Circle, installed game from CD-R copy, copy is working from LTR drive

2.: Testing the win98 LiteOn copies on winME, CloneCD 4.0.1.3 is installed.
-> installed game from a copy, to play the game only original CD works and none of the CDR copies
-> update to CloneCD 4.0.1.8, no copy works
-> reboot the PC, every copy works in every drive
-> uninstalled game

2.1: CloneCD 4.0.1.8 on WIN ME, default settings, "Hide CDR Media" for playing enabled;

-> installed game from copies with LTR 48x, game runs...
-> uninstalled game

Fazit: I can not find any problems with LiteOn writers, CloneCD and SecuROM *new* protected games.

where did you get firmware 5YS1 from?

i got 5s5a for my lite-on 24102b drive.

im the one who CANT copy diablo 2 LOD (secuROM new)
with my liteon 24102b.
reading and writing with this drive using default and other profiles.

i can make a copy from the original, but when i try to copy the backup copy is when it fails on me.

i am using windows xp pro. (just clean installed it the other day)

I CANNOT COPY secuROM new from a backup copy, BUT cd mate works no problems!!!

Sorry, we don't have Diablo 2 LOD here at ELBY.
But I could make some Securom *new* tests on XP pro us as well.

BTW: CloneCD was not designed to copy copies, it was designed to make saftybackups of the CDs that you own.

CloneCD 4.0.1.8 on XP prof us, copy the copy of AvP2 "on the fly"

-> CD 1: reader LTR 40x, writer LTR 48x, medium LiteOn highspeed CD-RW
-> CD 2: reader LTR 40x, writer LTR 32x, medium Verbatim highspeed CD-RW
-> all settings default, but "regenerate data" enabled
-> installed game from the copy of the copy, game runs...

can u read and write disk like that in windows xp but use lite-on 24102b for writing and reading of that cd?

Hmmm I have the same problem as you do. I have i have firmware 5S5A (just upgraded). with the liteon 24102b and have made 5 coasters so far trying to copy warcraft 3. Have tried the new securom (new) tried the default, just get a corrupt or bad load message when i try to run it.

Pentium 4 1500 xp pro, 512K microsoft drivers
