Use alcohol. You are not going to have much luck with that drive. Have the same drive and was only able to burn it with alcohol.

I know that. I use regularly Alcohol with this type of protection (and with the others also), but I hoped that a new version allows it

The Safedisc 2+ profile found here works for Safedisc 2.8 and both my Lite-On drives.

I used the "Protected Pc Game" profile in Clone CD to back up Nascar 2003 (Safe Disc 2.8x) with a Lite On 52x24x52x.
The only modification I made was to slow it down to 4x when burning (just in case).

It played fine on my 6x dvd rom after I enabled "Hide CD-R Media".

I didn't think my old 6x DVD could report ATIP, but I guess it may be able to.

I had no problem making a backup of Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 2 with CloneCD 4.2.0.2 and Clony 2.01.1a +CCD Profiler (configured for safedisk 2.51/2.8 with week sectors ignored), i used my Yamaha crw-f1 firmware 1.0f to burn it and it runs perfectly on my Toshiba 1612 firmware 1004 DVDrom drive without any emulation or virtual drive loaded or installed, the only protection i ddidn´t defeat is the new securom, really i still have not tried to, but reading the posts i think it won´t be able to defeat this.
I wonder why is Yamaha crw-f1 considered 1 sheep recorder when i does burn safedisk 2.8 perfectly, at least with the last firmware.

I'll be honest I have a 24x10x40 Lite-On....I can pass the EXE CD Check with SecureROM old and Safe Disk 1 games with no hassle but never a Safe Disk 2 or SecureROM new game CD EXE Check I can't pass.....I believe it is do the the error they put on the CD EXE to find on the orginal game CD to authentincate it before the game starts up. its not big deal my next system will have a Plextor 48x write speed and lite-on 48x write speed I won't have any problems then. USA Game Security is a joke. Macrovision was good in the late 90's with Safe Disk 1 cause the bad sectors couldn't be read with Roxio and programs like Roxio it would make it abort the read process. But ever since Clone CD skipping the bad sectors its been a joke for Macrovision. HEY guys if you look at a SecureROM new game such as Hitman 2 the actual CD surface at the right angle with light you'll see the CD spirals have zig-zag jagged to them there not a round circle. This is do to Sony changing it to try to prevent a 1:1 copy. Luckily the new version CLONE CD features emulation weak sectors and virtual Drive. But you can also do a ISO and then burn with a program like Fireburner to beat SecureROM new. Enough of me talking now. Big shout out to Future Proof.....and G@meFreak

How can it be that sd2.8 protected games only run with hide cdrmedia turned on, if the drive isn't a writer?? The hide media option was for hiding the atip, right?
And other drives than writers don't read atip!
Is there some kind of emulation in there?

even if I use ignore, the copy won't work without using the hide function even in my aopen dvd-rom player

Some people have reported this: I think "Emulate: gets stuck "on". I have mailed Sven Rhode about this and it will be fixed but CloneDVD is taking up a lot of their time, I suspect
