Magic DVD Ripper is a small but powerful program and has two modules, Backup and Convert.

The backup module allows you to backup your DVDs to your hard drive using one of three modes...
1.) Copy disc fully
2.) Copy main movie
3.) Split to two disc's

The Convert module allows you to convert your video to other video format for playback on various mobile devices, and has a wide range of profiles to chose from.

The Backup tab
You can also select a video_ts folder that you have on you hard drive as the source by clicking on the source drop down, which comes in handy if you have a movie on your hard drive that needs to be compressed to fit on a single layer disc or split to two DVDs.
If you are going to compress the files to fit a single layer disc you will need to place a check mark for that option, the default setting is disabled/unchecked.

Magic DVD Ripper does not have a built-in burn engine so a burning software will be required to burn the output files to a blank disc.

The Convert tab
You can select any profile from a list of various profiles by clicking on the profile drop menu if you don't see a profile you wish to use you can chose from additional profiles by clicking on more profiles.
You can also set the program to rip in batch mode.

Additional Profiles
You can add or remove any profile you wish to display within the profile drop menu simply by placing a check or uncheck the box next to your preferred profiles, or import a profile by clicking on “Profiles” located at the top of the main GUI.

Profile Editor
Magic DVD Ripper has a built-in profile editor if you want or need to modify any of the profile parameters, just select/highlite the profile you want to make changes to and click on “Modify” located at the bottom.
You can create a new profile by clicking on the “New” button.

Preview Player
The Preview Player has all the conveyance of a good quality media player with one advantage; you have the option to change the preview playback quality between four settings.

Backup settings
The default target size for single layer disc’s is set to 4482 this gives you the highest playback quality.
You can create a single .VOB file if you are going to stream your video.

Convert settings
On conversion projects where you may have a sync issue between the audio/video there is a very handy setting called “Force to synchronize audio & video”.
