I am very happy with my canon ixus70, after 2 years of use is still taking good pictures.

Most cameras in that price range should be reasonable, but just one thing, don´t get fooled into thinking that lotsa pixels will mean better images...it usually doesn´t. These cameras are using very small sensors and software to create the extra pixels...this can often mean a "muddy" image, and chews up space in the memory card.

Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Sony, Fuji....these are the biggest names and you should take the one you most like the feel of...and use it!
