Yo-

No worries with that-

We've had two movies go missing in the past six months - and they take your word for them I guess 'cause no charges nor penalties-

We have the unlimited four at a time plan-eh

Agree with Bigmike7.
Only had about 2 or 3 go missing also in the past 3-4 years. No problem with Netflix about them. I think that if your rental history does not show a habitual problem, they understand.....accidents happen in the mail.

Bigger problem that I've seen is receiving cracked discs in the mail. Probably 10-12 discs in the same time period.

Never had an issue with netflix saying I didn't return the movie either and I have been with them for at least 4 years. I agree though that sometimes you can have a bad run of cracked discs.

Same here I had most of mine returned some after I reported that I returned them and some you do get that the computer dvd player bulks at but they are good in getting you another copy to play. I would say in this down time market Netflix is a reliable source to subscribe to and you won't be unstatisfied with them. You just have to pick the plan you can go along with and go with it. I have the 3-unlimited plan pack and I am happy with it.

My biggest problem with Netflix is that you can't get new releases for months---pain in the butt. It's fine for older movies or tv series.

Are you sure about that and did you register your issue with them??? Waiting for months??? Are you sure about that?? What releases are you talking about??? If it's not a popular item that might be why they don't have many of them you know. It's the one that will make money for them in renting that they will purchase. If it's a out of the stream movie it is most likely the heads that be decided it isn't in their interest to purchase those that will not increase their revenue or bottom line or share holders. But if you feel your not being served they do have a phone to call and give them your concerns to customer service. I called them before and they resolved my problems. Also there is a netflix community that isn't connected to netflix but you can talk to other subscribers and get their view as well.

Alot of it depends on your use of the service. What I do to solve that potential problem is to queue movies up long before they are ever released on DVD. Believe it or not they actually have movies listed as "save" before they even come out in theaters. If you see a movie that you might be interested in that either isn't out in theaters or it has just come out in theaters then go to netflix's site and queue it up. It isn't 100% foolproof but it sure has made a difference for me in terms of how fast I get them.

Yo Jester-

That is exactly the way I do it too - and no problems getting what you want in a reasonable amount of time in most cases-eh

(btw - just upped my subscription to five unlimited)

i have been using netflix for at least a year now. It takes about 2 days to ship back and 1 day to ship back to me. The service is great, i can not really say any bad things about it. The only down size now is if you want blu-ray you got to pay $2 more each month

I've been a subscriber for almost 3 years. I love it. They have the most obscure movies on Netflix. I also like that I can stream newer tv shows (CSI) after they air.

I've had a few go missing, only to show up weeks later. They have always been great about taking my word for it and send replacements the day I report it (or the next).

Some discs (not just new releases) take forever. There's one i've had in my queue for at least a year and it is still a long wait. I generally have a one day turn around time, but I did put one in the box yesterday and didn't hear anything from them today

I get the unlimited 6 at a time...and I probably get two turns a month with those. I wish I had the time to watch all 6 every week!

so far, I've been very pleased with it.

For the money you can't beat NetFlix although there are some issues that still concern me. 1) Cracked and unplayable discs. The warehouse that sends movies in my Q has one of the highest cracked and unplayable discs problems in southeatern US. 2) All music DVD's in my Q have had a short wait on them for over six months, even when moved to the top of my Q. NetFlix has no explanation? 3) As far as new releases go. They may be scheduled for a Tuesday release date but they go out on Monday. I would have a returned disc to them on the day before the scheduled release date to make sure you get a new release. Overall they do a pretty good job considering most NetFlix employees fall into a just over minimum wage pay rate.

My biggest problem with netflix is the required of $1 additional for blu-ray. Some movie only have blu-ray so i am forced to pay that $1 but I do say it is only a $1 more.

Perfectly happy with my $8 a month with on-line viewing. I just don't have time to watch and mail that many movies. And if I do have time to kill I can always stream one on-line.

I'm easy to please though. I think I've ordered a few new releases and have never received anything but the #1 in my queue.

I generally have a 48 hour turn around time. I have had one unplayable disk in a year. I have had an experience ending stop on-line once during the evening peak usage time (restarted the movie, jumped to where I left off-- not really a tragedy of any sort). And since I have the slowest DSL (also least expensive) connection in my area that is otherwise reliable, the on-line movies adjust speed once or twice.

I don't have any Hi-Def anything as far as I know. I am not on the bleeding edge of technology by any means. Unfortunately, I hang back a little and wait for the technology to be 'right' before I adopt it. I just don't have the patience or time to be the guinea pig. I may get a Blu-Ray player when my regular DVD player breaks. Then I'll rotate out the 19" TV, put the 27" in it's place, and get a LCD/Plasma setup. But, not yet. Everything I have works fine.

I say this is the greatest thing to happen to video rental - my BB experience wasn't I say the most happy rental store to rental client. I been a member with NetFlix since 2007 and happy to say I am happy and content with my subscriptions and will stay with netflix for some time to come. Also what I like about netflix is the ability to search DVD content genre which has help me find movies I thought didn't make it to DVD and some I totally forgot about. Now if that is how a rental should be I don't now what else we would call it. Only thing I don't do is watch live streaming cause I have DSL but I rather wait and watch it on DVD that gives me more options and I can keep it out long as I want and watch when I want it. Just has to return it to get the next movies in queue. Turnaround time is acceptable mine is rougly two days or longer if it has to come from farther away. I could care less about BD they contains to me useless junk when all I want to do is just watch the movie. Yes they say it has better resolution but the hardware you watch it on also matter so basically garbage in garbage out. I watch the movies on my computer which has the high quality GPU and Hi resolution LCD and in my eyes it says the quality is way better then regular TV LCD. So hardware matter the better the quality GPU and LCD the better the viewing experience is. That is my rant. But for my money anyone that can get it go for NetFlix this is a recommendation from a NetFlix member. But as one says in the end this is my personal experience but in '10 will be a 4 year member.

I have been using NetFlix for 6 months and am very happy with the service.

Should have signed up a long time ago.

I mainly use the Instant view and occasionally use the dvd mailer, as far as I know this is the
only rental service that has both downloads and actual videos by mail. No one has come close
to the selection or price charged by Netflix.

I believe this is the way of the future.

Hi!
Not that you need yet one more comment about Netflix but here goes!
I have been with Netflix from the beginning and before them, I was part of Home Film Festival (adding up to a total of 24 years). We are signed up for 5 movies at a time. Obviously we are film buffs!

I think Netflix is the best deal ever!!! Go for it!!!

man your best bet is the red box if you like new releases. i signed up for netflix mainly for streaming to my xbox (older movies) which is cool. you can forget getting a new release. i always return the movies the same day and my top picks always get skipped.

I suspect this is dependent, to a great extent, on locale.
I always get new releases in a timely fashion unless I wait until later in the week to sign up.

The streaming option is great.
I have nothing but praise for NetFlix

Yeah right how did you figure that one out did you do the math of how much that would cost you in one month time how much you spend??? You can spend as much as 30$ or more for a one month per one movie at a time and I'll take my 18$/Month with 3 unlimited for many times as I want in one month. You sound suggestion is on the loosing end. Or better yet your spending a dollar for each movie while I only spend a one time a month and spend more then 30$ a month whilte for only 18$ of unlimited rental for 3 at a time meaning in one month time I can have more selection then you could it's just statics plus I have online account to put movies in queue and sent to me instead. So your reasoning for Red Box doesn't hold water in the start or end.
