Software Problem: DVD Fab and Single Vob File

DVDFab Mobile Option / VideoFab Converter Discuss, DVD Fab and Single Vob File at DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free forum; I am trying to use DVD Fab (Latest Version) to produce a single VOB file from my DVD however i am getting multiple Vob files, i want to stream them to a playstation and use a large screen and thus dont want to compress them but keep the Vob format,

Is there an option where i can stop DVD fab splitting the VOB in to 1gb or 2 gb files?

I like DVD fab and the options but do need to provide a single VOB file or find a way of ombiening them that works

I have tried combiening the Vob files using various programmes but dont seem to be able to get this to work

Any help much appreciated

I believe you'll find Vob Passthrough is what you want to use, however I don't use that setting.

I am using the passthrough setting but still getting multiple vob files

Really frustrating, i am trying to get this to work before i purchase DVD Fab i like the software and the interface it works really well its just that i can get the output to be a sinlge vob file!

Hi wampots, if you'll select "conversion settings" then look on the left side of the screen about half way down there is a box for and labeled "split" make sure the setting is "NO SPLIT" and Fab will make one file of the movie.

That sounds like exactly what i am looking for but i cant find conversion settings, I have commen settings but thers is nothing there like conversion settings.

It's not in common settings. When you've made your selection, there is an "Open Queue" button, press it and you'll see the "conversion settings" button. Make sure the movie you want is slected in the queue or is the only one shown in the queue.

Thanks for the quick reply

i am getting somewhere i have found conversion setting and the section that relates to splitting the file, but there is no otpion to not split. Only an option to have a 1gb or 2gb split.

i get the no split on other setting ie mp4 etc but not for vob

Very strang, my screen is the same as yours but i only get the option to split to 1gb and 2 gb not the 4gb and no split

What version are you using? I am using 6.0.6.0 4 Sept 09

I m using the trial version, wanted to see if it did what i needed fisrt. Is your the paid version, that could just be a key i as i thought the trial version was full working

I'm using the same version and it is my understanding that the trial is fully featured it just expires at some point. What movie are you attempting, if I have it in my collection I'll give it a try?

There is one thing I'm doing, I rip the movie to the HDD before doing any mobile stuff.

Yeah mine is paid (for a long while now). I've tried several different movies as well and straight from the disk and I always have the no split selection? This is a head scratcher? I'll do a little more checking.

i have also emailed support to see what they can come up with, as you say very strange as i should get the same options as you. I may pay for it and see if that makes any difference

did you just have dvd - mobile or all of them, want to make that if i pay for it the options that i should get are the same as the ones you are getting

Ok, I think I've found the issue. I attempted to write a VOB passthrough file to a FAT32 formatted drive and it would not give me the "NO SPLIT" option. FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit, you'll have to write your passthrough file to an NTFS formatted drive if it is larger that 4GB and it very likely is. Are you trying to put the file on a thumb drive or another type of FAT32 formatted drive?

well spotted you are correct

I was using a folder on my Windows home server as the destination folder, this is where want to stream the movies from, which i did not realise but is FAT32

I have jsut changed that the my PC using windows 7and NTFS and then i get the same options as you

I am now trying to rip the DVD to the NTFS drive and then transfer it to the windows home server to stream from there.

It will take about 20 mins to rip but i will post after and let you know if it works.

However you have solved the orignal problem, many thanks

Yeap sorted, i will rip to the Windows 7 PC and then move the server and then it streams fine

I agree nd have been very pleased with it while i have been trying it, it was just this little problem which was stopping me. But as it turns out it was not a DVD fab problem

I will be be purchasing to continue with my DVD ripping to my server

I think the options you get in that dropdown menu shown in the screen shot 90312 posted depends on the device/profile your using because if I use it for PSP I'm only given two options...no split and split by chapter.

Yes you are right what was confusing is that were both using the same option and getting different menus, however the reason for this is that i was using a server drive as the destination which was formatted in fat 32 which promted different menus
