have ordered several computer parts and various other items.
i agree with this statement.

i have used it many times in the last few years and never had a issue.

one time though i had to return a item (because it died within a day of using it) and the return process went smooth although i had to pay return shipping which somewhat sucked.

I didn't take the poll because more than one choice applied to me.

I have made some 53 purchases from Newegg in the past 5 years. (SCARY!!! ) Most of my purchases there have been fine but a few of them were not. Problems encountered were mostly open box items delivered when I had ordered the new item, DOAs, and failure under warranty. I must say that in nearly every instance, Newegg resolved the issue to my satisfaction -- or BETTER. The Egg sets the standard for customer service and I don't know of any other E-merchant who comes anywhere near that great of service.

I did have some beefs with them several years ago when they would regulary have "weekend" or "1 day" sales that were the same or higher delivered price than the items' normal price, but they have stopped doing that as far as I can tell.

A lot of people still don't like the shipping cost of multiple item orders being calculated on a per-item basis -- instead of by weight for all items sharing the same box. Their multi-item shipping discount might cut the shipping cost per item by 50% over the single item cost, but it is still much higher than the typical "by weight" method used by most other sellers. Subsequently, I mostly only buy their items advertised with free shipping, where the price isn't jacked up to conceal the normal shipping fee. Gotta check their prices daily to know when they are trying to pull a "fast-one" on the customer...

One thing is for sure: when buying bulk items like cables and electrical adaters, it is much cheaper to buy from the competition (like MonoPrice.com) because Newegg doesn't price the shipping of such orders by weight.

But if you keep on top of Newegg's prices and catch the good deals, they can't be beat -- especially if you ever need to resolve a DOA/Warranty/Return issue.

Just to report my last experience with Newegg (about 5 days ago) I ordered a sata cable for my rig and feel like I got a good price with free shipping but here's my problem and this is only the second time I ordered from them, 1st I live only about 150 miles from their Memphis, TN warehouse (I'm in middle TN). They shipped using DHL which was fine with me but DHL takes my order to KY and places it in the USPS LOL. now i know it may not be Newegg's fault but can't understand why they just didn't mail it their self for such a small order. I mean its just a sata cable lol. as far as customer service, the 1st order i ever placed was for a optical drive which was defective when i got it and I had no problem getting a RMA on it, shipped it back to them and had my replacement drive within 3 days. now that's service that can't be beat in my opinion. but the shipping of my sata cable with a private carrier has me stumped (guess its a contract thing with them or it was placed with DHL by mistake?) always thought they used UPS unless that changed lately. (still waiting on my cable to)

Call them and let them know of the problem, they may give you a credit or partial credit (worth a try)?? I live in East Tennessee, and I get things in 3-4 days including the day of order..even from the Tn. warehouse. They have always been great to deal with..including any returns..which have only been a few over the years. My only complaint..I get charged sales tax here in Tn. Even with the sales tax..they are hard to beat price wise. If the item is a couple bucks more at the egg...I still go with the egg..because of the customer service. However, if the price difference is more then that (rare)..I go with the cheaper price.

I found out about them when I was searching for a new printer/scanner (Brother DCP-165C) a few months ago. I love the printer to death. Fastest shipping ever (next day), but then I live in LA. I hate to pay tax, but they were still cheaper than anywhere else. Another plus is you can get Microsoft (Bing) cashback.

Go to https://cashbackaccount.bing.com/cashback/welcome.aspx and sign up. If you have a hotmail or msn or live.com account, just enter your ID and password. You log in right before you want to buy something, and then click on their link to newegg. They have links to a bunch of stores, with different cashback percentages. You can also do a search on their terrible search engine and find the cheapest price w/cashback on whatever you're looking for (in theory). You can also get cashback for newegg from http://bigcrumbs.com, but I don't think you can get cashback from both sites at the same time (but I could be wrong).

However, you can get both Microsoft/Bing (8%) AND Bigcrumbs cashback at the same time on everything you buy on eBay. The exception is for Microsoft/Bing, it has to be "buy it now" items, and I don't think items shipped from Europe are eligible. With Bigcrumbs I think you can get cashback on pretty much everything, although the amount is very small (but it is money for nothing).

They have very good prices on hard drives, but the packaging is horrible. My first drive was DOA, took a week to get my second drive. I sugguest sticking with retail drives.

Newegg delivers fast at a good price, I don't understand how some get a coupon code and why some things get free shipping and others not.
most RMAs OK but slow as they go to CA and RMAs on laptops a big pain.

MY RMAs
Rosewill KVM switch; audio port did not work
WD 2.5" HDD; DOA
Kworld media player; Poor Video
Acer Laptop; would not boot

most of the time packing is OK, processing takes to long, prices can change day to day, nice people on live chat, why should I have to pay postage back on a product that is DOA? Nice that you can print a USP label at home. UPS does not deliver on weekends.

I would iterate they are very good on price and shipping my only qualm is that the last two UPS delievered packages had box that seemed like they got drop or caught on something cause a rip on the boxes. But other then that the package materials and product was ok. I did report that to newegg as well about the package box damages. Has anyone had this happen to them as of lately or recently??? That would be good to know as well.

Yes the way they pack the package is horrible. UPS I think damages there stuff on purpose. If you look at their fed ex charges they are tripple everyone else, also they always raise the prices on items they put on sale

Newegg customer for the past 5-6 years here. I get my purchases on the East Coast in 2-3 days max UPS Standard. Over the years I returned a couple of things that did not workas expected and received RMAs and credits right away. I use them 7-8 times per year for all my builds and I check them daily.

I have sent them two emails about there stupid eggsaver shipping of having DHL pick it up and then wait a day or two before mailing it. In my last email I told them someone must be getting a kickback on shipping this way. If not why would they do it when they can ship it by usps themselves and save money. I do not mind them using the post office but having DHL pick it up and take it to KY and then ship it by mail can only be costing them and in the long run means it takes longer for me to get the item. They said they were forwarding my complaint to higher management.
Stupid is as Stupid does If enough of us send complaints about this then they will change it.

Newegg is quick and very good unless you try to return a computer for replacement.

I can only go by the UPS tracking info that I have. Origin scan; Baldwin Park CA USA, then Phenix AZ, then Louisville KY, then Newark NJ, then Philadelphia PA, Then to Buffalo NY and then delivered. I would say I'm 100% sure it came from CA.

Yep newegg has warehouse's in Calif. TN. and NJ. usually when I order something that ships
from the TN, warehouse I get it the next day for the free or eggsaver charges. Yep looks like
DR. PAUL's order did indeed ship from Calif. with the Origin scan of Baldwin Park CA USA.
