| I'm not sure if anyone else has had a problem with this portion of the program, or if this topic has been posted before. Please forgive me for any duplicity. The latest version of DVD FAB Platinum (3.0.5.0) has a bug in the DVD to iPod conversion process. After the conversion from the DVD or folder to MP4 file, during playback, the user will notice that the audio lags the video by a few seconds. I reinstalled an earlier version of this program (3.0.3.5) and the conversion produced a solid MP4 where the audio was in sync with the video. |

| I had this issue but only with doing R1 NTSC DVDs, very odd.

| hi, sarlacc54 What your mean is you got a a/v sync problem in DVDFab Platinum 3.0.5.0, and in an old version it is ok ? What is your DVD title name and the DVD region ? Please tell me more information about your problem. Thanks.

| I'm also having this problem as well, though I never got a chance to install an earlier version. I was using Superman Returns, USA region. |
| hi, jiffynuts We are working for fixing the a/v sync problem of "Superman Returns". Thanks

Wow... this is very weird... I just bought DVD Fab and Superman Returns was the only DVD I had near my computer to test and saw this audio problem haha. I do have another question however concerning this DVD. When I did a Generic conversion... the outputed video has the closed captioning on it. Is there something I am missing to take that out? |
| hi, BigReds42 I am not sure about what mean is "the outputed video has the closed captioning on it", Please tell me more information about it.. Thanks

| When I play the file via any media player, any words spoken are at the bottom of the screen (like subtitles, sorry that is a more accurate description of what I see, not closed captioning). Is there some setting I have not noticed (I'm new to using DVDFab to convert to a mobile file) that is making the subtitles be encoded when I do the movie? |
| Most software DVD players, e.g. Intervideo WINDVD, has an option to display subtitles while watching a movie. Disable or enable it there as you wish. |

| No, no, no... see... I used the DVD to Mobile (Generic) wizard. I let the program choose the "Title" that was the main movie. I converted to an avi.xvid for use on my video MP3 player. I just wanted to test out the file using Windows Media... and/or VLC to see how it looked. When I play the file... the subtitles are showing. I obviously don't want that. |

Ah... ok... yeah I posted my other post before refreshing to see if anyone had an answer... Thanks. I see the "Extract to idx/sub file" on the 2nd screen... but when you say UNCHECK all the boxes for all subtitles... do you mean all the "Subpictures" in the lower right hand corner of the 1st screen? Thanks for the help. |

Thanks for the response. My region is 1. The A/V sync problem occurs on any DVD that I try with version 3.0.5.0 of DVD Platinum. One of the first DVDs that I used was Resident Evil, but I did some testing on several other DVDs. The 3.0.5.0 version produced the A/V sync problem on all. The 3.0.3.5 has worked on all DVD's and I've been using this ever since the problem surfaced on 3.0.5.0. I never throw away previous versions of a program since issues like this can crop up during developments and upgrades. I realize that not all features can be "regression tested" prior to release. Is there any way to get ahold of any of those versions between 3.0.3.5 and 3.0.5.0 so that I can test these as well? Perhaps this would help you out? Regards, sarlacc54 |
| By the way Ting, I forgot to mention that DVDFAB is a great piece of software and had a lot of great features. A real value, so keep up the good work on it. |

I noticed that this happens when I convert longer movies; not so much on movies under 100 minutes. For Example, I had no trouble with the movie "Click" but Both "Pirates of Caribbean2" and the original "Harry Potter" did go out of sync. |
| I have the same problem with "13 going on 30" to the ipod with 2 pass encode version 3.0.5.0. Thanks David |
| I've done some futher testing. Most of the movies that I've converted to MP4 with the DVD to iPod feature, the entire movie will have the audio and video in sync. With others, the last 1/3 to 1/4 of the movie, the audio will lag the video. Again this is with 3.0.3.5. I've had no luck at all with versions 3.0.5.0 or the 3.0.5.1Beta. |
| just for info, I had the same A/V sync problem from DVD to ipod with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I am just trying this program for the first time and it looks promising. Hopefully this problem can be solved easily! Thanks. |
| I've found a movie that is really being a pain in the butt to convert to iPod format. That movie is "The Fugitive" on the WideScreen side of the DVD. No matter what I use the A/V is out of sync throughout the entire movie. I've used the 3.0.3.5, 3.0.5.0, and 3.0.5.1Beta versions of DVDFAB Platinum. I've been using another process (called out in another thread) which has been working flawlessly, up until this DVD that is. Here is the link to that process: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html Has anyone else tried to convert this movie, and if so, what did you use? Thanks, sarlacc |
| In another thread Fengtao, the program author, indicated a new beta version will be released tomorrow addressing this problem. There will be a download link in the thread for the beta. |
