I bought 42pfl7404 and connect it to the pc . But 5 -30 theres is a black screen coming . Like its blinking(like when you change your resolution) .its really annoying . My graphic card is ati hd4650 512mb .Is there anyone who can help me? |

| Not necessarily, You could be waiting a long time before someone comes along with the same T.V. and is trying to do the same thing as you are. What makes you think it might be the T.V. ? You leave very little detail, the more information given the more feedback you might get. Do you have things set up in the catalyst center right? What do have you set your settings at? etc.

| i have tried 60hz almost at every resolution .and i have tried almost every catalyst center option.and tv options...difrent hdmi cables difreent computer . |
| this could be same problem I've encountered. If yo are trying to clone your monitor onto your tv, it's not possible. If you choose clone, your tv will go blank. The TV must be set at it's native resolution, and you must use normal dual monitor mode where your mouse can go from one screen to the other. this problem was supposed to be remedied in Vista, which never happened. I'm hoping Windows7 fixes this, but so far it's not looking good. |
| Why clone, when you can just extend the desktop, and set cinema mode so everything plays to the TV. The monitor & TV can be set to their own resolution & frequency independently.

| If you've changed cables, and used alternate PC's, then it seems like the TV has either a design fault, or is just plain defective.

| i think this tv is not compatible with ati hd4000 series graphic cards. Because i have sent this tv to repair and even i have tested there myself and seen its working normal. |
| Hi zorocan I have the same problem like your.I have PFL7404 and my computer has (SAPPHIRE ATI HD4830 512MB 256BIT GDDR3 (DirectX 10.1) PCI-E x16 2.0 EKRAN KARTI (11147-06-20R) I connect the pc to the lcd with hdmi cable.I used 2 hdmi input and nothing changed. I also updated my graphic drivers and tried every variation.İt's still doing that annoying blinking. If you can find a solution please inform.So do I. Regards |
| I have exactly the same problem. I connect 42pfl7404h on my onkyo av recivier with pvr, mediastreamer and pc and have that annoying blinking. If anyone find solution for this problem? |

| Try use DVI or HDMI to connect TV again,the cable may be the problem,HDMI is more stability |
| Like i said before, all my conection to tv goes through HDMI via Onkyo AV Reciver. MediaBox and PC are connected via HDMI to AV reciver and PVR are connected with analog cable to AV Recivier. From recivier goes only one hdmi cable to TV. Switching from device to device goes through AV Reciver. I notice that flicking is often while i was watching PVR. I think i will contact Philips to see did they have some idea. |
| I talk with philips service and they told me that they didnt have such problem with this model. He told me that i can try with updating. I will do that tommorow and will write about result of updating. I hope that they this wil take away problem. |

That might actually be the problem. Try connecting the PC directly to the television and see if it works then. The graphics card might be having an issue detecting your TV. I know with my Nvidia, it knows that my Plasma TV is a Samsung 1080p television. I would imagine the ATI would do the same if everything was working correctly.

| I have the same TV model and when connecting my laptop (HDMI to HDMI, ATI graphics card, Vista) have the same problem. Both TV and laptop have the latest firmware and drivers. Sometimes the blink occurs occasionally but other times frequently. I have tried different resolutions, hdmi cables etc but still the same. I spoke with philips representative here in my country about the problem. I was told that it is not an issue with the TV (This could be correct as I have found others on the net with the same problem having other HDTVs brands). I was told that sometimes the 'handshake' between TV and PC is lost. It seems that this is not an unusual problem when connecting HDMI to HDMI. It seems that switching on TV first and then laptop/PC and setting TV to PC mode (I do not really like PC mode settings though, especially when running movies!) helps a little. Also making the TV your main screen (that is not using PC or laptop monitor) might also help. Hope someone comes out with a solution soon! |
