Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Will give it another shot tonight if I have time.

On a key issue I believe it said to call support, do you know if someone is there that late?

Somewhere between 10:30 pm. and 12:30 am Central time?

It said call support? If so I am unaware of this and the number. I know there is a testimonial 1-800 number....

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

I thought it said Call support maybe I was seeing things at 12:15 am this morning

Will try tonight and pay more attention.

Will probably end up getting a second key anyway if I can get something good out. So far not so good.

The DVD project had freezing problems and this first BluRay venture not so good ( Probably my fault not the program ) so we will see.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Good Morning Dr

To sell such a product as this it should be:
1. A 6 year old can do it or
2. A 60 year old can do it.

Meaning a 1 click process or a guide so simple that anyone can do it ( meaning they have no inkling of what to do to start with )

For a product that does something the others do not ( Multiple DVD to Bluray ) you would think that :

1. It Would be promoted more
2. It would be simpler to use
3. That a very good and detailed written guide would be available.

Under Main Menu you have
Copy Projects and Burn Projects and Extras but no section for
Copy Multiple DVD's to BluRay

And the guides follow the same path/logic, they assume you already know how to do it, or at least some of it.

My best suggestion here is to hire someone that writes Cook Books
They are very detailed, 1/4 teaspoon here a 1/2 Tablespoon here, a cup here and then stir vigorously, then mix in this and that.

Though I have not had time to follow it and actually try it
your post # 96 Small Tutorial is very good but incomplete from the novice stand point.

For some of the basic stuff it does but not that helpful when it comes to the DVD to BluRay function as a whole.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Try this again as I got booted trying to post....

The users manual is a bit worse than what I originally had written up, meaning I made the users manual and was a bit disappointed with what was left out or added. The BD guide on the manual I can't even do it that way and it work. Lesson learned was to keep my hard copy when I make it and I just might remake one from scratch. Maybe separate the DVD to DVD from the DVD to BD then separate the DVD to mobile as well. No one has really complained yet though on the manual till now so this can help me make one and I just may get started on that this weekend and get it completed by Friday the 16th of this month.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Dr Who To Continue from your Post # 96
Quote:
" You'll get the success popup after each disc is done. "
This suggests that you keep adding disc to the temp folder that you created,
Which seems to just overwrite what is there with no warnings, does not give option to rename or name each disc.

I also noticed that a 4.19 gig Full Disc Show was reduced to 1.12 gig in the temp BluRay folder.
I thought it would be the same size or a little smaller, was not expectng such a decrease in size.

Then you jumped to:
Quote:
" Now to copy to existing project. "
After some playing around I figured you meant to do this with the Second Disc that was being added to the project ?
Is this a correct assumption?

Next we go to:

Quote:
" You want to navigate to the BDMV Folder to get to the index.bdmv do this how ever many times as long as you don't exceed 22.5 gigs as a BD-R or a BD-RE will only fit this much data on the 25 gigs disc. 46 gigs roughly on the BD DL but just a guess. "
Do you add to the existing " index.bdmv " each time
Here my assumption is Yes

Is this correct or do you name each one different as you add them? So you would have a index.bdmv for each disc.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Hi bean yes each time you add to make a several DVD's to one BD use the existing.

Questions to ask so I know what really needs focused on.........

Do I need a better tutorial for the following?

1. DVD to DVD?

2. DVD to Mobile?

3. DVD's to BD? I know this answer already but just to get information.

4. Is the convert disc image sufficient?

5. Xp Browser mode? Honestly I have no information on how to use this and even why to use this. Maybe for those still using XP?

If yes on the DVD to Mobile should I make a guide per device? I think it isn't really needed as it would be more redundant personally.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Dr Who

Have not had a lot of time to go thru it all.

The best part is that the program seems to be pretty simple for the single process stuff.

2. DVD to Mobile? I do not do mobile so I would have to look at this later, Is it a 1 step process? If not Yes you would probably need one.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

To continue:

Now after eraseing the disc we go to " Burn BluRay " :

Quote:
" Now you want to select the two folders that are in the temp folder you created. Do not select just the temp folder and add this it will not work. You just want the two folder inside that. You may see a popup to start a new project etc.... click yes. You can tick the

box that says don't ask again if you want. "
Which does suggest that my assumption of adding to the same " index.bdmv " file was correct.

Again the Tick does not work on my Win 7 machines ( I tried on both of them )

After adding all 6 disc from 24 Sea 2 ( 29.3 Gigs ) It shows as having only 7.87 Gigs
That's some big reduction in size I could now put all this on 1 DL disc and not have to worry about BluRay ?

Most be something else going on that I am not thinking of or this is just the guide for the BluRay structure of the disc?

Just a short run down on my thoughts as I try and make a BluRay.
Maybe tonight I will have time to test this out.

Maybe for Christmas I can get another BluRay burner and be able to test here, since I am here more than home.

Thanks you know the answers to this I suggest to look at the current manual to see if that alone is simple enough. Just a thought. I want a better manual but never had any complaints or suggestions/ideas that it needs fixed so I just moved on. Thanks again as this will assist on the current rebuild and future users manuals.

DR

Might not have had any complaints because with only a 3 day trial they just got frustrated and moved over and bought a different program.

3 Days is okay to try the rest of the stuff but when you move to the BluRay part You Need more than 3 days.

Re: DVD neXt COPY 3.0.5.6 Discussion

Dr Who

I did that test again to BluRay last night, looks like it might be good this time.

A little confusing here, when I looked at the BluRay Project folder it showed like 8.81 Gigs So I thought I would just burn it to a 25 Gig Disc, well when I put in the 25 Gig Disc it said it was to small, not enough room.

When you go to burn I did not see a place that told me what size of disc that I would need. Before I check that out more clearly my 3 day trial expired and I could not get back on to look.

Is there and easy way to tell?

Dr I do not have a BluRay player or burner here on my test computer at work.

But I put a project together and through Windows ( Win 7 ) Explorer it shows 8.83 Gb which is about the same size as the one at home.

Looking at it through the Burn BluRay window of DVDneXtCOPY 3 it shows 8 kb ?

Perhaps it will not show correctly here without a BluRay device attached but from here where would I look to see the actual size?

Okay from doing the newer tutorial I see this too. It can be confusing but the 8kb is the index.bdmv file and that is normal so I guess to burn this is the file DNC needs to see to burn doing this? The STREAM Folder is where all the movie compilation is. This is where you need to go to ensure you are not above the max file size to burn to Blu-Ray. There needs to be some sort of way besides going to look though so you know I agree.

Hey Doc

The BD to DVD is at best ambiguously written. I had a great deal of trouble following the process as outlined in the manual.

I forgot about this part of the program but I think I will put together a step by step process with images of the screens when I get a little time.

Maybe that will help me figure it out also. LOL
