I did not see a selection for the model I have. It is a DVR-X152

Shortly after using this external unit to record a few disks, I came back to the Fujitsu Windows XP Service pack 3 laptop I was using and could not get anything to work.

My internal drive is also a combination DVD and CD writer and reader but it no longer burns DVD's (it also just quit recognizing that I wanted to burn DVD's and sees all blank disks as CD Roms even though it still reads DVD's!) When a blank DVD-R is inserted, it shows there is no space on the "CD" - That internal drive is a Fujitsu MHV2120AH

I know very little about the software changes that might need to be made. I have always been too busy working on projects with functioning equipment to learn how to fix them when they quit working.

I wind up being at the mercy of a retail technician with a backlog of repairs when my project's deadline is eminent and my equipment stops working.

I have installed too many cheap burner programs without doing any clean up of files but I do now have Adobe Photoshop Elements on the laptop and I'm still learning to edit video footage.

I work with digital stills and videos that depict intricate construction details and I need to turn out a finished Hi Res DVD with both clips and stills as well as some Word documents that will play on most computers.

You need to install and use a PROPER burning app. Nothing else.

1. Download and run this:

http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_...ry_cleaner.htm

2. There's a known problem with some external drives and XP SP3 if using Firewire:

3. As stated above, in order to burn DVDs or CDs, you need a proper burning application like Nero (commercial) or ImgBurn (free).
