A few weeks ago Imation/TDK showcased their new line of "TDK Life on Record" Blu-ray recordable discs (6x BD-R and 6x BD-R DL) and its cleaning and storage accessories at a media event in New York City. Let's take a look at them and they might be your cool XMas gift for him or her.

Their new Blu-ray accessories including:

- TDK Blu-ray Player Laser Lens Cleaner. Blu-ray Player Lens Cleaner helps maintain and clean Blu-ray players, ensuring consistent high-performance, quality disc playback. MSRP $29.99.

- TDK Blu-ray Clean Cloths. These dry, disposable, non-abrasive cloths provide a safe way to remove dust, dirt and oil from Blu-ray disc surfaces. MSRP $4.99 for a pack of 20 cloths.

- TDK Opticloth for Blu-ray. These re-usable micro-fiber cloths are designed specifically to clean Blu-ray media safely. MSRP $4.99.

- TDK Blu-ray Tyvek® Sleeves. Tyvek sleeves make it easy to store and protect Blu-ray discs in a scratch-resistant sleeve. MSRP $8.99 for packs of 25.

These are the first 6x Blu-ray disc recordable (BD-R) and Blu-ray disc recordable double layer (BD-R DL) media for the US retail market.

These TDK are Made in Japan and the BD-R 25GB retails for $13.99 and BD-R DL 50GB for $32.99 a piece.

The TDK 6x BD-R 25GB is supported at up to 6x on the LG GGW-H20L firmware YL05.

LG BE06LU11 YP01
However, the TDK 6x BD-R 25GB is not supported on the LG BE06LU11 firmware YP01 (only showing 2x burn capability)

Currently the TDK 6x BD-R DL media can only be burned at up to 4x on the LG GGW-H20L firmware YL05.

LG BE06LU11 YP01
The TDK 6x BD-R DL is only supported at 2x on the LG BE06LU11 firmware YP01.

Panasonic 4x media really dropped in price, 4x single for 8, 5pack for 35.
