LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray profile 1.1 / 2.0 Spec Review - HD-DVD-HDo / BLU-RAY PROFILE 1.1 / 2.0

Hello folks, I had quite a bit ago put up a thread about me purchasing the LG GGC-H20L and having major problems with it (like most others stillare) that it was not playing correctly and freezing up under windows xp and vista. after much troubleshooting it turned out to be my K8 VIA chip - i did buy a silicon SATA-II add in PCi-e Express 1X card, and it works PERFECT..BOTH BD -SL/DL and HDDVD SL/DL work flawlessly....

BUT NOW my question arrises after reading a article on Tom's Hardware regarding HDDVD vs. Blu-ray..and i found out that if a drive cannot play Blu-ray profile 1.1 media, it cannot be upgraded through firmware. I dont have any movies that use Profile 1.1 or 2.0 so far, but i hear Sunshine on Blu-ray does

Does anyone knoow the proper specs of the drive and if it's built to play Blu-ray Profile 1.1 / 2.0

I think it may because it had HDDVD's HDi compatability (Transformers / King Kong etc.)

This is true for standalone player and not for PC player/burner as it's controlled by the software (such as PowerDVD). The latest PowerDVD Ultra supports BD Profile 1.1 so any PC drive will also support 1.1 as long as you have the right software.

I personally back HDDVD just cuz i've had much better experience with it. The Packaging of the content UI and overall bang for the buck soo far has been much better for HDDVD's for me
But No need for me to wory about the war. Now that I know, IF the GGC-H20L can play BD 1.1 / 2.0, i can buy either or content

my drive played and ripped War just fine.

and War is BD 1.1 movie
